opus. has been playing together as a quartet since their formation at the Chamber Music Connection in the fall of 2003.

They were Silver Medalists in the Junior Division of the 2006 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, and Bronze Medalists in the 2007 Saint Paul String Quartet Competition. They were Junior Division Semifinalists in the 2005 and 2007 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competitions, and took First Prize at the 2005 Ohio String Teachers Association Chamber Music Competition.

In the fall of 2006 opus. traveled to New York City at the invitation of From the Top to record in Carnegie Hall for the national television series “From the Top: Live from Carnegie Hall”. They were also subsequently featured on From the Top’s popular national radio program.

opus. has performed collaboratively in concert with professional ensembles Cypress String Quartet (October 2006), and Carpe Diem String Quartet (June 2007).

They have had the honor and privilege to participate in numerous master classes and coaching sessions with such distinguished artists as Arnold Steinhardt (Guarneri Quartet), David Finckel (Emerson String Quartet), Peter Salaff (Cleveland Institute of Music, formerly Cleveland Quartet), Diane Monroe (Temple University and Swarthmore College, formerly Uptown String Quartet and Max Roach Double Quartet), and members of the Cavani Quartet (Cleveland Institute of Music), the St. Lawrence String Quartet (ensemble in residence, Stanford University), and the Amadeus Trio.

Besides these exceptional opportunities, opus. regularly enjoyed the privilege to work together with the fine artists represented by the Chamber Music Connection: Deborah Price (Artistic Director), and all the distinguished associated faculty of professional musicians from the Central Ohio area and beyond, who generously share their passion for chamber music.
